It’s getting to be that time of year to be thinking about Christmas gifts and I can’t think of one better than these beer advent calendars. I say that mostly, because I want one and I didn’t get one last year. This year I’m getting an early start, hence this post. I’m not going to list every single one I find, I want to list ones that are unique or reasonably priced or that you can actually get.
12 Beers of Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar
This is from City Brew Tours and preorder is available now at $95.00 per kit which has (12) unique craft beers with tasting guides and festive gifts. It also gives you access to nightly interactive virtual beer tastings with brewery guests. I can’t tell what beers are in this kit, but it says it has varying styles in it. Shipping is $14.95 per kit. If you add in the freight the cost per beer is $9.16 each.
Hoppy Hanukkah 2023 Beer Advent Calendar
This one is also from City Brew Tours and you can pre-order now as well at $79.00 per kit for (8) unique craft beers from breweries all over the country. This also comes with the access to nightly interactive virtual beer tastings with brewery guests, tasting guides and other Hannukah-themed surprises. Shipping on this kit is $12.95 each and if you factor the freight charge in, the cost of each beer is $11.50 each.
Give Them Beer 2023 Beer Advent Calendar
This one is priced at $85.00 for (12) beers that are available year-round nationally. I can only assume that all (12) beers are unique, and the website doesn’t say what any of them are. They do say they have a variety of styles including IPA’s Stouts and Ales. You can order now with shipping to start in early November but can’t ship to AK, AL, HI, KY, MS, OK, UT. The Shipping charges are $15.00 for standard ground with option of expedited 1-, 2-, or 3-day shipping for significantly more. With standard shipping included in the price – each beer costs $8.33 each.
Give Them Beer IPA Advent Calendar 2023
This is similar to the one above except all (12) beers are IPA’s. The varying styles of IPA’s are East Coast, West Coast, Hazy, Juicy and Imperials. This one is a little less at $79.00 per kit with the shipping cost still at $15.00 for standard ground shipping. You can order now with shipping to start in early November but can’t ship to AK, AL, HI, KY, MS, OK, UT. When adding shipping to the cost of this kit the per each beer price comes out to $7.83 each.
The Open Bottle 2023 Advent Calendar
This is the first (24) pack that I’ve come across. At $109.99 per kit, you get (24) unique beers and never repeat, which is actually impressive. There are either 12oz and 16oz bottles or cans numbered 1-24. All of the calendars have the same beer with a variety of styles and brands. I can’t determine shipping charges since they apparently don’t ship to my state (TN). It also doesn’t list what states they do and don’t ship to; you just have to put your address in at the checkout and find out. There is a pickup option but it’s in Illinois only. I can only guess at the shipping cost and can assume it will be at least $15.00 per kit, although I bet it’s more since this weighs more than any of the ones above. If you figured freight was $30 and added to the cost of the kit, each beer still only costs $5.83 each, which is a pretty good deal.
Brewdog 2023 Beer Advent Calendar
This kit also has (24) – 12oz unique craft beers at $89.99 each with (8) of them as box exclusives, meaning you won’t find them anywhere else but in this kit. There are also (10) limited editions and (6) of their classics. They have a non-alcoholic kit as well but I’m not wasting my time on that. Styles in this kit range from IPA’s to Stouts and from 4% to 9%. This link will actually show you the specific beers in this kit, which most companies won’t do. You can pre-order now and shipping will begin in early-to-mid November. This is another one that doesn’t ship to TN so I’m not able to determine the actual freight charge or what states they will or will not ship to. If I guess at approximately $30.00 to ship per kit, and add it to the price of the kit, the per beer cost is $5.00 each, which I think is a very good price.
Aldi 2023 Beer Advent Calendar
These were added to stores on November 1, 2023 and I went by and grabbed one. They are only $49.99 each for (24) different 12oz cans, which nets out to $2.08 per beer. You can’t beat this one. It appears these are only for in store purchase and they are usually towards the front of the store on a pallet. I saw that they had wine and cheese ones also. Don’t wait on these, they will be gone soon.
